Ted Roof New Defensive Coordinator

Yes, we now have a defensive coordinator!

As indicated by my title, Ted Roof will become our new defensive coordinator.

Ted Roof has agreed to be Auburn's defensive coordinator. He's been the defensive coordinator at the University of Minnesota.

He's Gene Chizik's sixth assistant coach hire, the second on defense.

Roof's best work has been as a defensive coach. He was Georgia Tech's defensive coordinator from 1999-2001, and was nominated for the Frank Broyles Award, which goes annually to the nation's top assistant, in 2000.

He was 6-45 from 2003-07 as Duke's head coach.
