Zac Etheridge Out for the Season

Various media outlets have broken the news that Auburn safety Zac Etheridge suffered a neck injury in the game against Ole Miss, and will miss the remainder of the season. Gene Chizik said that the doctors expect a full recovery.

The most amazing display of compassion on the play was by an Ole Miss player, Rodney Scott, who was tackled on the play and pinned under Zac Etheridge. Somehow, Scott knew that there was a neck injury involved, and stayed motionless for the entire time. His actions may well have prevented a worse injury to Etheridge. Kudos to Scott for his actions. We'll be cheering him and his Rebel teammates on, from here on out!

Mike Slade filled in admirably for Etheridge, Saturday, and will likely hold onto the job for the remainder of the season. Former starter Mike McNeil is not a likely option, said Chizik.
