Hi Tiger fans:
I had somebody post a Fanpost over at A Sea of Blue asking about tailgating and things to do in Lexington and stuff, and I thought rather than wait for you to ask us, I thought I would help out anyone who is going to the game.
Here are some tailgating and other resources from past commentary/posts on ASoB for those of you visiting Lexington for the game on Saturday:
- My tailgating post for the EA campaign is here. It has some good stuff.
- Here's another post with some ideas.
- And yet another resides here, and another here.
A couple of the last are pretty dated, but not that much has changed. I highly recommend the Keenland-UK football daily double, which is a trip to the race track (the fall meet starts Friday) and then the game that night. There is really no better way to enjoy Lexington than that, although it's asking a lot to squeeze in the Kentucky Horse Park or a visit to one of the local distilleries, like Buffalo Trace or Woodford Reserve along with a trip to Keenland.
Do keep in mind that the World Equestrian Games will still be going on at the Kentucky Horse Park through the 10th. I have no idea about ticketing or any of that business, you'll have to investigate that yourself, but it is not far at all from the stadium and if you are making a weekend of it and love such things as the Dressage and etc., that will be happening.
Hope this helps. Look forward to the game on Saturday, hope it's a good one with zero injuries. For those coming to Lexington, enjoy the trip, be safe, and leave some bourbon for the rest of us. :-)
All the best,
Glenn (ASeaOfBlue.com)
