Alabama Prediction Thread

War Eagle!

Well folks, it's that time of year again. Time to face our most hated rivals from the other side of the state, the Alabama Crimson Tide. Auburn enters the game at 11-0 and Alabama enters at 9-2, but that doesn't stop the Vegas oddsmakers from having the Tide as a 3- or 4-point favorite (depending on whom you ask, as of today). Hopefully that will fire up our guys even more than they're already fired up (although I doubt there's much more room). While the SEC West title is already wrapped up (thanks to our victory over Georgia and Alabama's loss to LSU), there is still a ton riding on this game. Namely, bragging rights and a shot at a national championship. This is the biggest Iron Bowl since 1994, when both teams entered the game undefeated. If you're not absolutely jacked up for this one, then you need to see a doctor immediately; your heart may not be beating.

For the first time in the two-year prediction thread history, we had a tie in the Georgia predictions. Since I haven't established a method for a tie-breaker, we'll just have to deal with it. Maybe I can explore tiebreakers next year. Anyways, congratulations this week go out to commenters watchupdoc and WarDamnZach for each offering predictions (45-31 and 48-28, respectively) that were only four points off. Congratulations to the both of you, and welcome to the weekly winners' board!

By the time this Saturday's Friday's game gets here, it will have been 13 days since we last played a game. It will pretty much be the same for Alabama, since they only had a scrimmage against Georgia State inbetween the two dates. This will be Auburn's toughest test to date this season by far, and easily the toughest road game we've faced this season. It will take our best effort to emerge out of Bryant-Denny victorious, but I think we'll be focused and ready to turn in the best effort. It will be an Iron Bowl for the ages! Buck Fama!

Auburn 34
Alabama 29

P.S. - Entries are accepted until one hour before kickoff (12:30 PM CT) and if a user enters two scores, only the first counts. Also, if you only give a score and don't designate which score belongs to which team, I will assume that you are picking Auburn to win by that score.

We're all just trying to have a good time here. Don't be a jerk, and we won't have a problem with you. War Eagle!
