According to peer review at wikipedia, intramural sports are recreational sports organized within a set geographic area. The term derives from the Latin words inta muros meaning within walls, and was used to indicate sports matches and contests that took place among teams from "within the walls" of an ancient city.

During the Fall Semester for 2012, Auburn University offered the intramural sports of flag football, soccer, volleyball, and basketball. Unfortunately, intramural running, surfing, and yoga-ing were not offered.

The Men's Intramural Volleyball tournament started on Tues, Oct 30 at 6p and 7p on Court 3. In the top bracket, the #1 Thundercats had a bye and will play the #2 Monstars on Mon, Nov 5 at 8p, on Court 4 after they defeated #3 H.Y.F.R.

In the bottom bracket, #1 Pounder's Posse had a bye and will play #2 I believe I can Spike on Mon, Nov 5 at 9p, on Court 4 after they defeated ACSC Woogity Woogity's.

In my humble personal opinion, I believe The Thundercats have an inside track to win the Men's Intramural Volleyball Championship. The Championship game is Tues, Nov 6 at 8p on Court 4. Fans are encouraged to attend the Auburn Men's Exhibition Basketball game on Monday before attending the Intramural Championship. I'll be interested to hear what you guys think!
