Gus Malzahn is Auburn's new football coach. What should be expected in Year 1?
Auburn has selected former offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn to lead the program out of the darkness, but what will Year 1 under Malzahn look like?
It's tough to expect a whole lot after a 3-9 season, but Malzahn is in the unique position of coaching a large quantity of players he recruited that know his system. On offense, that should help get things up to speed quicker than if any other coach had been hired.
On defense, it's another story. The Tigers have had a hard time stopping opponents for years, and Malzahn's offense doesn't do any favors for its counterpart. Even with a great hire at defensive coordinator, Auburn is going to give up plenty of points in 2013.
So, how many games will the Tigers win in 2013? Will the offense be able to carry Auburn to better-than-expected results, or will the defense keep the team grounded? Vote in our poll and tell us in the comments how you expect the season to play out.
