Auburn pitchers Jenee Loree and Lauren Schmalz held South Carolina to one unearned run on four hits as the Tigers' Softball Team swept the Gamecocks 4-1 Sunday in Columbia.

The win improved Auburn's record to 31-19 and secured the Tigers fifth consecutive SEC Tournament birth which begins May 10 in Tuscaloosa.

Head Coach Tina Dease said,

"Making the SEC Tournament for a fifth straight year was one of our team goals going into the season, Our team has overcome some injuries and obstacles ... I'm very happy for the players, especially our seniors. They have worked very hard to this point, but we know there is still a lot of work ahead of us."

The Tigers still have one weekend of regular season play left as they host Mississippi State next weekend, May 4-6 at Jane B. Moore Field.
