Stay connected for news and updates

Cody Parkey was the Tigers leading scorer in 2011, nailing 41 extra point attempts and hitting 72% of his field goals.

The pre season award nominations for the Auburn Tigers keep coming as today two Special Teams players have been named to preseason watch list.

Cody Parkey was nominated for the Lou Groza Award and Steven Clark is on the Ray Guy Award Watch List for the second consecutive year.

The Groza Award goes to the nation's most outstanding place kicker. Parkey was the Tigers leading scorer last year hitting 13 of 18 field goals and going 41 of 42 in extra points. He also was third in the nation with 38 touchbacks on kickoffs.

Steven Clark was one of three finalist last year for the Ray Guy Award which recognizes the best collegiate punter in the nation. The All-SEC and First Team All-American led the SEC averaging 40.8 yards on 72 punts, placing 33 inside the 20-yard line.

Today's announcement brings Auburn's total number of players on pre season watch list to five. Let's just hope that is an omen of good things to come for the 2012 season.
