After rebuffing the Tigers last month, Dameyune Craig has accepted a job on Gus Malzahn's coaching staff.

Florida State quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator Dameyune Craig has accepted a position as co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Auburn. With the hire, head coach Gus Malzahn plucked another home run addition to his coaching staff.

Noles247.com was the first to report the move, and Auburn athletics director Jay Jacobs later confirmed via Twitter.

Craig was hired as quarterbacks coach at Florida State since 2010, and he has been a key recruiter for the Seminoles. Auburn has lost several recruiting battles against Florida State in recent years, and Craig has been the key to the Seminoles' success. He was the primary recruiter for defensive tackle Eddie Goldman, defensive back Ronald Darby and quarterback Jameis Winston.

Before his time at Florida State, Craig spent two seasons as wide receivers coach at South Alabama, where he made great recruiting inroads in Mobile, a major hotbed in the state of Alabama.

Craig was the starting quarterback at Auburn from 1996-97, and in '97, he led the Tigers to their first SEC Championship Game appearance and set a school record with 3,227 passing yards.

With the addition of Craig, Malzahn continues to build one of the best coaching staffs Auburn has seen in recent memory.
