Auburn football recruiting: Cameron Toney officially signs with Tigers

Todd Van Emst

Cameron Toney made his commitment to Auburn official on National Signing Day.

Cameron Toney, the 6-3, 225-pound Inside Linebacker from Huntsville, Alabama, has officially signed to play for Auburn. He is ranked No. 249 in the country according to 247Sports. Toney is the No. 9 recruit in the state of Alabama, and the number 13 inside linebacker in the country. He faxed in his National Letter of Intent earlier Wednesday.

Toney, who played for Huntsville High School, chose Auburn over Alabama and Arkansas, the 2 other finalists for his services.

Cameron zeroed in on Auburn fairly early in the recruiting process, taking many visits throughout his recruitment. He has been a solid commit to the Tigers, despite the coaching change. He joins an Auburn squad that is in dire need on good linebackers, so there is a chance he could see the field early and often.
