Bruce Pearl's 2016-17 Auburn Basketball team has been impressive at times, but there's one thing Auburn fans have been saying for the last 2+ years: We need a really big man to play under the basket.
Merry Christmas, Auburn fans.
Today that need has been fulfilled. A rumor that has been floated around the Auburn message boards over the last few months has now been confirmed. 2017 5* signee Austin Wiley is now enrolled early, practicing, and will play this Sunday against Mercer.
Wiley, at 6'10.5" and 250 pounds is exactly the type of player Auburn has badly needed. He first committed to Auburn back in August of last year. He's a double Auburn legacy as the son of women's basketball legend Vickie Orr and men's basketball Aubrey Wiley.
Wiley transferred from his high school back before the school year began and enrolled at a prep school. That's when the first rumblings began that he intended to enroll at Auburn this fall. Now Auburn has confirmed it.
