Well this is shocking news, to say the least. Our prayers are with him, and we're extremely happy that the doctor's prognosis is good. Hamm is the second signee from the 2016 recruiting class, alongside Tashawn Manning, to be diagnosed with cancer.
Manning, who is dealing with acute promyelocytic leukemia, recently asked his girlfriend to prom in a rather heart-warming way while dealing with his chemotherapy.
It does sound like he's still hopeful to be at Auburn this summer or fall. I'd be shocked if he's able to join the football team this year, but that's the least of our concerns right now. We wish him all the best on his recovery.
Auburn has had its share of signees dealing with cancer, recently, with Hamm joining Manning and former offensive tackle, and now projected 1st or 2nd round NFL Draft pick, Shon Coleman.
