Memphis Player Wrestles Football Away from Auburn Equipment Staffer

+

There was a scuffle between a Memphis football player and a member of the Auburn equipment staff. The player ultimately took the football and ran off the field with it.

Sean White to Start Birmingham Bowl for Auburn

I'm thrilled with this. I really hoped Jeremy Johnson would come back strong after the Texas A&M performance, but either Gus & Rhett didn't trust him to throw down field that much, or he just hadn't improved too much over the beginning of the year.

Memphis' weakness on defense is in defending the pass. They are very bad at it. Sean White is very good at throwing the football (as long as the receivers catch it). I really think Sean White gives Auburn the best chance to win. It also gives Gus the chance to showcase what Auburn could look like next season with White at the helm.

Let's hope Gus comes out and calls the game with the Waterboy Philosophy: Last game of the year, Brent, can't hold anything back!

Four Star Defensive Back John Broussard Signs Financial Aid Agreement With Auburn

1

Broussard's commitment was a bit shaky since Muschamp and T-Rob left. He visited Mississippi State last weekend. Today he tweeted that he will indeed be signing with Auburn. He will be an early enrollee as well. To see What we wrote about him back in May when he committed, click here!

John Franklin III Tweets Video of Signing and Faxing Letter of Intent to Auburn

The fact that fax machines are still the primary means of sending in an LOI blows my mind, but hey, it adds to the fun of signing days. Here's video of new Auburn QB/ATH John Franklin III sending in his official LOI.

Charles Kelly Spurns Auburn, Stays a Nole

46

Someone alert Pat Forde that Auburn has been spurned. As some hinted, Kelly would go to Auburn if he were offered "crazy money." As others suggested, he would stay at FSU if the "game changed." Who knows what happened, but Gus is still without a defensive coordinator with the recruiting dead period looming. Check out our latest coordinator update for a list of who may be next...

Carlton Davis Named to SEC All-Freshman Team

This should shock absolutely no one. He had multiple big interceptions and was trusted to cover some of the biggest name receivers in the SEC, such as Laquon Treadwell. Big future ahead of him!

Travaris Robinson expected to take South Carolina Defensive Coordinator job

41

Before you panic too much, we don't know that he was even offered the same job at Auburn. If he was, he may be worried about stability, sadly. He knows Muschamp will get 2-3 years. We have no idea what will happen at Auburn past this next season.

So that's my first choice off the list gone. It was a risky one, but it was the best for continuity and recruiting. I'm now willing to bet FSU DC Charles Kelly is the next target, but we'll see.

Auburn Defensive Coordinator Will Muschamp in play at South Carolina?

18

It's speculation, right now, but it's out there. His name was mentioned a few weeks back as a possibility, as well. However, it looks like their main candidates are passing or taking other jobs. Muschamp will be free to leave Auburn with no buyout after next weekend. We'll see what happens. Hopefully he sticks around and continues building what he's started.

Defensive End Nick Coe Commits to Auburn

+

Well, I wasn't expecting this today, but I was expecting it. More on this when I can get something substantial written. Don't expect it until tonight or tomorrow, though.
