ESPN Saturday morning show College GameDay will return to Auburn Nov. 30 for the Iron Bowl matchup against Alabama. It had been speculated, but GameDay made the official announcement via Twitter Saturday.
It's no surprise that the 2013 edition of the nation's best rivalry is getting the GameDay treatment. Auburn will enter the contest at 10-1 overall and 6-1 in SEC play, and Alabama will be a perfect 11-0 and 7-0. The winner will claim the SEC Western Division title and advance to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game. If the Tigers manage to pull off the win, they will all of a sudden be realistically in the national-title conversation (though, they would need some help).
The teams will enter the game with their best combined record since 1994, when 10-0 Alabama edged 9-0-1 Auburn, 21-14. That loss, which took place at Birmingham's Legion Field, snapped a 21-game unbeaten streak for the Tigers. This time around, Gus Malzahn's team is trying to avoid falling to 'Bama for the fifth time in six years.
The game will kick off from Jordan-Hare Stadium Nov. 30 at 2:30 p.m. CT. CBS will have the broadcast.
