Kalvaraz Bessent, an Under Armour All-American corner, made his pledge to the Tigers official on Wednesday, National Signing Day. Bessent faxed in his National Letter of Intent, making him a member of Gus Malzahn's program.
Bessent, out of Camden County (Ga.) High School, is rated as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports composite, and listed as the 122nd-best player in the current recruiting cycle. He's ranked No. 11 among all cornerbacks and No. 9 among players from the state of Georgia. He flipped from Alabama to Auburn on Dec. 9, 2013 and hasn't looked back since.
Bessent stands 6'1 and weighs in at 170lbs, and he runs a reported 4.51-second 40-yard dash. He held scholarship offers from multiple schools around the country and chose the Tigers over top programs such as 'Bama, Florida, Georgia, FSU, Tennessee, Ohio St., and Ole Miss.
Bessent is another tall cornerback to add to Auburn's class and should see the field early. He needs some fine tuning, but he has all the tools to be a long time starter on the Plains.
