Jason Campbell Injured In Preseason Game

If you’re like me, you’ve been following the progress of former Tiger quarterback Jason Campbell as he begins his first full season as the starter for the Washington Redskins. It’s not everyday that a former Auburn quarterback gets a start in the NFL.

Truthfully, I can’t remember the last time an Auburn quarterback started in the NFL.  Pat Sullivan?

Campbell was injured on this play.
In case you missed it, Campbell was injured in Saturday’s preseason game with Pittsburgh. Preliminary reports say it’s just a bruise. He’s having an MRI this week that will give the definitive answer. Redskin doctors are optimistic that he’ll be fine.

Campbell was injured on a play where he completed a 29 yard pass to tight-end Chris Cooley. Before being injured, Campbell had connected on 6 of 8 pass attempts for 75 yards.

A good place to follow the Redskins this year is over at fellow SB Nation site Hogs Haven.com. They do an excellent job of keeping up with Campbell and all of the Redskins.

Note: Former Auburn linebacker Marcus Washington was also injured during Saturday night's game with Pittsburgh. Washington dislocated his right elbow. Can you imagine the pain? He could miss several weeks. The NFL openers kick-off in three weeks.
