This announcement from the University was released this evening...
Auburn's 1957 National Championship football team will be honored at Saturday's Auburn-Vanderbilt game, recognizing the 50-year anniversary of the Ralph "Shug" Jordan-coached championship team.
To commemorate the half century anniversary, Auburn will wear their white jerseys and pants, while the helmets will be without the AU logo and will have gray facemasks, similar to those worn during the 1957 championship season.
A free autograph session with members of the 1957 team will take place from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on the Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum concourse. The 1957 National Championship team will be recognized at halftime of Saturday's game.
Kickoff for the game between the Tigers (3-2, 1-1 SEC) and Commodores (3-1, 1-1 SEC) will be at 11:30 a.m. CT. The game will be televised by Lincoln Financial Sports.
