Sunday Practice Report

From Auburn Sports Information...

Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn football team spent just under an hour on the practice fields Sunday evening going over assignments and correcting mistakes from Saturday's game against the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Defensive coordinator Ted Roof noted the Tigers must improve their effort in all phases in order to eliminate the mistakes from Saturday.

"We've got to coach better and the players have to play better," Roof said. "All the mistakes that were made were correctable, we just have to learn from them. It's really on all of us. As coaches, we have to do a better job showing the players what to do and the players have to take that into the games and perform."

The Tigers will take Monday off before they return to the practice fields to begin preparations for their next game against the Kentucky Wildcats.

Kentucky enters the game with a 2-3 overall record and a 0-3 record in the Southeastern Conference. The Wildcats lost 28-26 at South Carolina this past Saturday. Auburn and Kentucky last met in 2005 in Lexington. The Tigers won that game 49-27. Auburn stands at 5-1 overall and 2-1 in SEC play this season.

Saturday's game will be televised by ESPNU and is slated for a 6:30 p.m. CT kickoff from Jordan-Hare Stadium. Kentucky enters the game averaging 25.2 points per game and is allowing 26.8 points per game. The Tigers are putting up 38.3 points per contest and giving up 27.2 points per game.
