TET Meetup Is On For A-Day This Weekend

For the love of puppies, will someone please email me how the scoring works for A-Day...

As we previously discussed, we're going to have a little, impromptu, casual and any-other-adjectives-that-downplay-this-in-case-no-one-shows-up gathering of all Track Em enthusiasts this Saturday at Loco's Pub on college Street in Auburn. Some of you suggested the Olde Auburn Ale House, but I called them today and they aren't going to open until noon, so Loco's it is.

Google Maps link here. I called today and Loco's opens at 11am, which is exactly the time I will show up and attempt to secure some tables for us. We'll probably order some food around 11:30, and maybe start making our way to the stadium around 12:15 or so. From there, we'll make our way to Jordan-Hare by either car or foot, depending on what the parking situation is like (it's probably like a half mile jaunt)

For those unable to meet us early, we're going to attempt to assemble around the Will Call window on the alumni side of the stadium before we go in, somewhere around 12:30-12:45. It's general admission after you pay your $5 cover charge, so we'll all sit together and compare notes and compare ourselves to Alabama, because, well, that's what Auburn people do when you get us all alone...

A few of us are discussing sneaking in some flasks like the good old days, and face it, we probably are less apt to try that during the season, figuring the high cost of getting kicked out. At A-Day, if we get kicked out, we pay five more bucks, go in another entrance. Don't worry if you bring your family, we won't get rowdy. Promise! With the exception of Zach, we're all over-40 victims of fate...

Long-range weather forecasts indicate a chance of rain moving in later in the day, so maybe they'll get drenched in Tuscaloosa and we'll get to soak up a few rays, watch some butt-busting on the field and perhaps sip on a few bourbons and cokes. After the game, if anyone is interested in going for a few more cocktails, I'm volunteering myself for that duty, being the TET cruise ship activities director. BTW: If you have trouble coordinating with us on Saturday, my cell number is XXX.XXX.XXXX

AND IN CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW IT--This A-Day Game is being sponsored by the US Navy. How cool is that, especially in the wake of the excellent job they just performed over off the coast of Somalia? No confirmation yet if SEAL team snipers will be positioned around the venue to pick off pirates and Bammers looking to interlope...
