AUBURN, Ala. - World record holder Fred Bousquet claimed gold for the second time in as many days at the 2009 Charlotte UltraSwim. The former Auburn sprinter hit a new meet record time of 48.22 in Sunday evening's 100-meter freestyle finals, beating out runner-up Michael Phelps (49.04) by over eight-tenths of a second. The Perpignan, France native set the new US Open record for his performance in Saturday's 50m free competition.

Bousquet recently became the first man in history to swim the 50m free in under 21 seconds, dropping a 20.94 in last month's French nationals.
