Good news Tiger fans. After 24 hours of media and internet speculation, Auburn Offensive Coordinator Gus Malzahn has decided to remain a part of Gene Chizik's staff. Vanderbilt pushed hard to sign Malzahn as their new head coach and reportedly up the ante yesterday to $15 million dollars over five years.
That is a lot of money that would ensure financial independene for his family. But after considering the offer for about 48 hours Gus decided to remain at Auburn. He has been quoted in the past as saying that his family loves living in Auburn and that he particularly loves working for Coach Chizik. And now he can get about the business of helping prepare a game plan for Oregon and the National Championship January 10th.
The Auburn family is thankful Gus that you chose to stay a Tiger a little while longer. War Eagle!
