Love them or hate them, the ESPN GameDay crew has had nothing but good to say about its time in Auburn. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit rolled into town Thursday and say they always look forward to the trip to Auburn.
Speaking to WTVM television in Columbus on Friday, Fowler says the Auburn experience is unique. "It's hard to put a finger on it, but there's this close bond here between generations, between alums who come back to the school; there really is a kind of family feel, there's a real passion for the Tigers," said Fowler.
"I think there's something special in the connection that people feel for this school and how it's maintained years after they leave."
"You can feel the tradition; you can feel it whether we came here 10 or 20 years ago, as soon as you step on the campus it exudes tradition," added Herbstreit.
"We went to a restaurant last night that's just quaint, it's just a nice college town people are very friendly I could see how it you live in the south you would want your son or daughter to come to this school."
ESPN GameDay will air live on Saturday, from 8-9 a.m. CT on ESPNU and from 9-11 a.m. on ESPN.
The traveling pre-game show which features ESPN commentators Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, and Erin Andrews, will make its first appearance at Auburn since 2008 and fourth appearance on campus since 2004.
