Gene Chizik has won his fourth coach of the year award. He was named today as the Bobby Bowden National Coach of the Year. The award is sponsored by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association and the Over the Mountain Touchdown Club in Birmingham.

Former Florida State Coach Bobby Bowden is a coaching legend having compiled the second most D-1 wins in the history of NCAA football. Bowden will present the award himself at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center in Birmingham on March sixth. Anyone can attend the ceremony but must purchase a ticket  from the Over the Mountain Touchdown Club.

In receiving the news, Coach Chizik said, "I'm very humbled and very flattered. It's obviously a great honor to be associated with a great coach and a great individual like Bobby Bowden."

Chizik, coach of the National Champion Auburn Tigers, has also won the Associated Press SEC Coach of the Year as well as the Home Depot National Coach of the Year Award, the Liberty Mutual National Coach of the Year, and the Marathon Oil Bear Bryant Coach of the Year Award.
