National Signing Day Is Just A Day Away

Five star recruit Kris Frost (LB/WR) is expected to send his letter of intent to Auburn Feb. 2nd.

The Auburn Tigers are looking for a strong finish as National Signing Day is just a day away. Tomorrow morning the fax machines will start humming in the Auburn Athletic offices as signed national letters of intent start to come in for the 2011 recruiting class.

There is a good chance the Tigers will add to what is already an impressive group of verbal commitments. If the Tigers get one or two of the group that visited this past weekend, Auburn should finish in the top five in the nation for the second consecutive year .

There are as many as eight elite prospects still available that have listed Auburn as one of their favorites. The two that seem to be leaning strong toward Auburn are DT Gabe Wright (Carver of Columbus) and Safety Erique Florence (Valley).

Some wonder if yesterday's announcement by Cornerback Marcus Roberson (St Thomas Aquinas - Ft Lauderdale) might have an impact on Florence's decision. I personally do not see that as a problem and I believe Auburn has a good chance of signing the Valley High standout.

Right now Auburn has about a 50-50 split between defensive and offensive commitments with a quarterback, two wide receivers, two running backs, two tight ends, and four offensive linemen. On defense the Tigers have five linebackers, four defensive backs, and three defensive linemen.

As was previously announced here at Track Em Tigers KoolBell will be hosting an open thread all day tomorrow covering the class of 2011 as it happens in real time.

Most news of who signs will occur by 11 am. However, there may be a few that comes in a little later so we hope you will not only participate in the open thread but stay tuned to Track Em Tigers all day for your signing day news. War Eagle!
