I received an email this morning from Ray Stallone of HBO Media Relations. He was responding to our story yesterday on former Auburn player Stanley McClover and specifically the report by the website, Sports By Brooks that indicated McClover received payment for his upcoming appearance on the network's Real Sports program.
Stallone writes, "For the record... HBO Real Sports has never paid for an interview and never will. The allegations that HBO paid for an interview is 100% false."
HBO is owned by Time-Warner, Inc. Stallone's comments are no surprise. From the start, it seemed very unlikely that HBO would engage in such a practice. Needless to say, the episode airing March 30th should be interesting on so many levels.
