Auburn senior Alli Smalley was named First Team All South Eastern Conference Guard March 1st, 2011.

Auburn senior guard Alli Smalley has been named First Team All-Southeastern Conference. Alli was honored by the choice of the league coaches but said she would gladly swap the all conference selection for more team wins this year.

"It is definitely a huge honor because the SEC is such a great conference and there are so many great players in the league. It was a goal coming into the season, but not something I thought about a lot."

"I would trade it for a few more wins, but it is a great honor, nonetheless."

Smalley finished the regular season averaging 12.1 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. She scored more than 20 points in three games this year and had a season-high 24 points in the season finale against Kentucky.

She holds the record at Auburn for career 3-pointers with 218 and ranks ninth all-time in career scoring at Auburn with 1,557 career points. Defensively she leads the team with 48 steals.

Head Coach Nell Fortner said,"I am so proud of her and this honor for her. I think it is awesome and a real tribute to Alli, to finally be recognized as the great player that she is ... (Alli) is one of those players that is a consummate team player and competitor."

The Auburn family is proud of you too Alli. Congratulations and good luck in the SEC Tournament.

The Tigers (15-14) will play Mississippi State (12-16) 9 p.m., Thursday in the first round of the SEC Tournament. The game will be broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Fox Sports.
