Auburn Receives Bid For NCAA Golf Tournament

     

Auburn SEC Champion Golf Team will play in NCAA National Tournament.

The Auburn Tiger SEC Champions women's Golf Team has been selected for the NCAA National Tournament. The number 13 Tigers will begin play in the NCAA East Regional Championship May 5-7 at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida,

The Tigers are one of nine teams in the field ranked in the Golfweek Magazine top-25. They will be the fifth seed in a field of 24. There will be a total of 72 teams playing at four different sites during the tournament.

Six teams in the East Regional are from the Southeastern Conference.  Eleven of the 12 SEC teams advanced to a NCAA Regional Championship.  LSU and Arkansas will play in the Central Region and Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina will play in the West Regional.

The Tigers have been to 17 NCAA Regional Tournaments with 13 appearances being in the East Regional. Auburn finished in the top eight and earned an NCAA Championship bid in 13 of their 17 trips.

Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each regional to the Championship finals which will be held May 18-21 at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas.
