JaQuay Williams, the number one wide receiver recruit in Georgia committed to Auburn this afternoon. Williams is from Sandy Creek High School in the Atlanta area.
He has 2300 yards receiving and 29 touchdowns in two years at Heard County High in Franklin, Ga. He moved this Spring to Sandy Creek and won the top receiver award at the Atlanta Area Football Camp. Williams is rated the No.1 Georgia wide receiver prospect by both Rivals and Scout.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound receiver has been pursued by many of the nation's top programs including LSU, Alabama, Florida, and Michigan. He said Sunday that he had narrowed his choices to Auburn and Ohio State. But he took an unofficial visit to Auburn this past weekend and today declared that he will be a Tiger.
He reportedly told the Atlanta Journal Sunday, "Auburn has one of the best wide receiver coaches in the country (Trooper Taylor). It's a great tradition down there, and I like the offense."
Welcome to the family JaQuay and War Eagle!
