Auburn's Saturday Scrimmage - Pairing Down Depth Chart

Auburn used Saturday's scrimmage to look at a lot of the younger players and for evaluation in preparing the depth chart; which should be coming out in the next few days.

After Saturday's practice, Offensive Coordinator Gus Malzahn said the decision to name QB Barrett Trotter as number one on the depth chart, "Took a little bit longer, but that's a tribute to the ability of Clint Moseley and Kiehl Frazier."

In a you tube video of Saturday's scrimmage linked here, readers can view interviews with Coordinators Malzahn, Ted Roof, and several of the players.

It's easy to see that Jeff Whitaker is going to be an interview media favorite this year. The Guy is funny. At one point when he is talking about how tough practice is, under the Auburn Coaching staff,  he says, "My first time in practice, I got knocked off the ball. And I'm like, 'Was I really a four star or am I really no good; because I'm not supposed to get pushed around?' I mean this is not the way it's supposed to be. They didn't tell me it was going to be like this." Check it out, you'll enjoy it.

Finally with less than two weeks till kickoff, you have to expect the depth chart to be released by at least this coming Friday.
