For those Auburn fans that are like me and love great offensive moments in baseball, Auburn's 10-4 defeat of No.12 Ole Miss on Saturday was special. The only thing better for this fan would've been to actually be at the game.

Auburn put the pressure on the Rebels right out of the gate by scoring five runs in the first inning. The Tigers had three hits and took advantage of five Ole Miss errors in the first to build an early 5-0 lead.

The Tigers tallied a total of nine hits and none were bigger than Zach Alvord's grand slam in the eighth inning. Ryan Tella had his second three-hit game, Garrett Cooper had two hits, and Dan Glevenyak extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a single in the sixth-inning.

The early lead allowed Will Kendall to go after the Rebel batters and win his third start. After Auburn's big eighth inning, Slade Smith came on and shut the Rebels down ringing up two K's to get his third save.

Ole Miss tried to make a comeback in the sixth off a Matt Snyder double, closeing the gap to 5-4, but the Tigers answered the challenge with their five-run eighth to end the threat.

The Tiger win evened the weekend series at two games each for the SEC West foes. The deciding game of the series will be played today at 1:30pm CST. with Daniel Koger (1-1) scheduled to take the mound for Auburn.

Lets Go Tigers!
