Spring Football Notes

What a great weekend, we had wonderful weather and some very interesting revelations about our young Auburn Tiger football team.

The first thing that sticks out is how cut and developed the players look. Coach Chizik said during the first interview Friday, that he was really impressed with how good these men look strength wise, and that their work ethic during winter workouts really shows.

Jeff Whitaker has lost 22 pounds or more, and actually gained strength, while LaDarius Owens gained weight and strength. There are numerous stories at all the positions on the team. All of those questioned have praised Coach Yox, and his staff for helping to get them headed in the right direction.

editors cut*** Auburn received a commitment from the 6th ranked DE in the country this weekend. Our friends at rivals.com tell us so.

Milton (Alpharetta, Ga.) four-star defensive end Carl Lawson, rated by Rivals.com as the No. 8 strongside defensive end in the country, informed Auburn head coach Gene Chizik Saturday night of his intentions to sign with the Tigers in February.

Recruiting hardly ever stops in this business.

Your preliminary offensive line starting rotation is already in place. Thanks to 24/7 Sports we have it here for you.

LT: Greg Robinson

LG: John Sullen, Sr.

C: Reese Dismukes, So.

RG: Christian Westerman, RFr./Eric Mack So.

RT: Chad Slade, So.

Clint Moseley stated in an interview yesterday that the new offense is completely different. "In every way".

Praising Offensive Coordinator Scot Loeffler, Moseley said that "You can take it to the bank" when Coach Loeffler tells you something. "He says we are all even", and that's something that Moseley appreciates. I was however disappointed in some of his responses to the questions Saturday, hopefully it was more nerves, than insecurity. Judge for yourself.

Monday the teams gets after it in full pads. Until then, enjoy the day, and if you can, get out to Auburn and pull the baseball team to a sweep of those pesky Bengal Tigers from LSU.

WAR EAGLE!
