Auburn Center fielder Ryan Tella has been on a tear lately. And because of it, he was named today as the Co SEC Player of the Week following his performance against No. 8 LSU.

Ryan currently is one of the South Eastern Conference's hottest hitters. In the LSU series he was 5-12 (.417) , with a double, a triple, a home run, 3 RBI's, and two runs scored.

He leads the SEC with an on base percentage that is first in the conference and 13th nationally. His batting average (.438) is second in the SEC - 15th in the country, and his 39 hits are second in the SEC and 23rd in the nation.

Tella has reached base 20 straight games and his on base percentage (.536) ranks first in the SEC, his triples (two, tied for third), walks (18, tied for fourth), slugging percentage (.584, seventh) and total bases (52, tied for eighth).

Lets hope Ryan continues this pace as Auburn fights its way through a tough SEC schedule. He will be leading the Tigers tonight against Samford in Birmingham.
