It is particularly fitting that on the day after former Auburn All-SEC Golfer Jason Dufner won his first major PGA Tournament - the SEC office named five current Tigers All Conference.
Ben Hogan Award semifinalist Blayne Barber, was named to the first team for the second consecutive year. Will McCurdy, Dominic Bozzelli and Niclas Carlsson were second team selections while Michael Johnson was place on the All Freshman team.
In the three years that Tigers Head Coach Nick Clinard has been at the helm at Auburn, his players have won 10 All-SEC honors. Placing five golfers on the All-SEC team this year set a new record for the most ever in program history. The previous record was four golfers, set in 2005.
"It is a great honor to have five players named All-SEC," Cinard said. "They are all very deserving, and have worked extremely hard on their games throughout the year. I am proud of them and how they represent Auburn in the classroom and on the course on a daily basis."
The Auburn Family is proud of them too.
