Auburn running back Onterio McCalebb continues to garner preseason attention as he was named today to the watch list for the Doak Walker Award. The award honors the top running back in the nation.

In the past week McCalebb has been named to the preseason All-SEC Team and was placed on the watch list for the 2012 Maxwell Award, which is presented annually to the top outstanding collegiate football player in America.

Onterio's performance on the gridiron warrants all this recognition. He has rushed for 2,016 yards and 18 touchdowns in his career and set a school record in 2010 with 8.5 yards per carry average.

He scored seven touchdowns in 2011 and is ninth on Auburn's All Time All-Purpose Yards list with 3,341. And despite injuries last season he earned Second Team All-SEC and was voted the offensive MVP of the Chik-fil-a Bowl.
