Home on the Plains: Upcoming Athletic Events in Auburn for Feb. 7-Feb. 12

This week softball joins the events featured here as the girls begin their season on Thursday night. If you find yourself in Auburn this week, make an effort to go and support the student athletes. War Eagle!

Tuesday, February 7th

Men's Basketball vs. Alabama, Auburn Arena, 8 PM

This game will start off with pre-game fireworks. At halftime, Quick Change will be performing. If you haven't seen their act, you won't want to miss it. Like all men's game, there will also be the Kinnucan's t-shirt toss, Chick-fil-A parachute drop, Golden Flake shootout, and so much more. For students, the first 750 to arrive will be provided with foam fingers. Be there. Be loud. Beat Bama.

Thursday, February 9th

Softball vs. Alabama State, Jane B. Moore Field, 6 PM

Tina Deese will lead the Tigers in to battle against in-state rivals Alabama State to start the 2012 softball season. At this time, promotions have not been announced. Based on previous experiences, expect the return of the candy or coupons for returned foul balls promotion.

Friday, February 10th

Softball vs. Wright State, Jane B. Moore Field, 12:30 PM

Take an extended lunch break or make it an early weekend and come see the girls take on Wright State.

Men's Tennis vs. Southern Miss, Yarbrough Tennis Center, 2:00 PM

Between softball games, head down the road to the Yarbrough Tennis Center and catch the men in action against Southern Miss. No promotions have been announced at press time, but if we know Auburn Tennis like I think we do, we'd expect pizza to be served.

Softball vs. Bowling Green, Jane B. Moore Field, 3:00 PM

Come enjoy the sunset at beautiful Jane B. Moore Field as the Tigers play in their second game of the Tiger Invitational.

Saturday, February 11th

Softball vs. Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne, Jane B. Moore Field, 12:30 PM

The second day of the Tiger Invitational sees our girls play just one game. Enjoy the outdoors at Jane B. Moore Field before heading home to watch the men's basketball team at Ole Miss on TV.

Sunday, February 12th

Men's Tennis vs. University of South Florida, Yarbrough Tennis Center, 12:00 PM

The men will be looking to close out a big weekend on the plains against USF. Admission is free as always.

Women's Basketball vs. Arkansas, Auburn Arena, 1:30 PM

This game will serve as breast cancer awareness day at the Auburn Arena and fans are encouraged to wear pink. Alfa insurance will donate $1 for each of the first 5,000 fans in attendance to the Joy to Life Foundation. If you get there early enough to be one of the first 500 fans, you'll get a free pink t-shirt from Alfa as well. Lots of charitable organizations will be at the Arena, and fans are encouraged to donate pet food, used cell phones, eye glasses, and books to help out their assorted causes. Like all basketball events, be on the lookout for prizes from Kinnucan's and Chick-fil-A. The Tiger Paws will be performing, and at halftime there will be a special performance by the Russian Bar Trio.

Softball vs. Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne, Jane B. Moore Field, 2:00 PM

The final event of the weekend will see Auburn play the role of the visiting team against Appalachian State on the final day of the Tiger Invitational. Stay through the end of this one to find out the all-tournament team.
