Home on the Plains: Aug. 17-19

Soc-facility-12_medium

Greetings, and welcome to the first edition of Home on the Plains here on our new platform. To those who were with us on the old site, thanks for coming along. To those who are reading this for the first time, a short introduction is in order. My name is Everett and I graduated from Auburn in 2011 with degrees in Business Administration and Marketing. I am currently finishing my MBA through Auburn, although I am now doing so as a distance student as I just took a job in New Hampshire. The purpose of this series of post is simple -- to tell you what events are happening on Auburn's campus this week and any and all promotions assorted with them. If free t-shirts are available, this is where you will find out about it. If athletics wants you to wear a certain color, I'll do my best to let you know. I'll occasionally add a sports marketing spin on things since that is my background. Without further ado, here are the events happening this week back home on the plains after the jump. War Eagle!

Friday, August 17th

Soccer vs. Georgia State, Auburn Soccer Complex, 7:00 PM

It's opening night at the complex as the Tigers welcome Georgia State to town. For the home opener, the Tigers will celebrate parents weekend. Free schedule posters will be available to those in attendance. This game will also serve as a fundraiser for St. Jude's childhood cancer research and is labeled as a Goals for St. Jude event. Admission is free.

Sunday, August 19th

Soccer vs. High Point, Auburn Soccer Complex, 2:00 PM

High Point visits Auburn for a Sunday matinee to wrap up parents weekend. With it being the first weekend of school, there shouldn't be too much homework to keep the students from occupying the bleachers. Once again, St. Jude's will be in attendance promoting Goals for St. Jude's while raising childhood cancer research awareness. Admission is free.
