SEC football preview, Week 7: 'Hey, is Missouri any good?' edition

Out of 50 games involving SEC team, we've picked the winners 42 times. Let's see if we can keep that ball rolling as we look at this weekend's matchups from around the conference. All times listed are Central, and games are listed by general watchability.

(25) Missouri @ (7) Georgia: 11 a.m., ESPN

Here's what we know: Georgia is a pretty good team that has been absolutely decimated by injuries over the last couple of weeks. Here's what we don't know: Is Missouri a legitimately good SEC team? Missouri is undefeated, but the schedule is ridiculously bottom heavy -- just like Midwesterners themselves! -- for the Tigers. Given the scary number of hurt Bulldogs, many are picking Mizzou to get the huge road upset here. Aaron Murray may be missing some playmakers, but I think we see him come out and put the banged-up Dawgs on his shoulders. Gary Pinkel has the Missouri offensive attack humming, so Georgia will need to put a big number on the scoreboard to protect home turf.

(17) Florida @ (10) LSU: 2:30 p.m., CBS

This game will feature the SEC's best wide receiving corps (LSU's Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry) against the SEC's best defensive back tandem (Florida's Loucheiz Purifoy and Vernon Hargreaves). Florida QB Tyler Murphy hasn't thrown for a ton of yards, but he has taken care of the ball surprisingly well since taking over for the injured Jeff Driskel. For the Gators to have a shot at leaving Baton Rouge with a win, he'll have to play his best game yet. Problem is, not many young quarterbacks play their "best game yet" against LSU in Baton Rouge. I expect the Gators D to slow down the LSU attack enough to make it interesting, but the offensive balance of the Bayou Bengals should be able to add a couple of scores late to put away Coach Boom's boys.

(9) Texas A&M @ Ole Miss: 7:30 p.m., ESPN

A couple of weeks ago this had the potential to be one of the games of the year. Of course, that was before Ole Miss had about as successful a two week stay in Alabama as Mike Price did. Even so, this has the potential to turn into a track meet in Oxford. The already-terrible Aggie defense lost its best lineman to injury, so things should loosen up even more for Dr. Bo and Jeff Scott. While the Runnin' Rebel Black Bear Ackbars have the better defense, Texas A&M still has the best player on the field. Remember how easily a healthy Nick Marshall ran on the Ole Miss D? Johnny Football has been watching that game film all week. He's going to score a lot of football points. Also working in Texas A&M's favor: a collie mascot. I dig it.

(14) South Carolina @ Arkansas: 11:21 a.m., SECN

Will Jadeveon "MOST SELFISH PLAYER ON EARTH: MY COLUMN" Clowney lace up and wreck some fools Saturday? Conventional wisdom says the Gamecock roll, but Sakerlina has historically struggled at Arkansas. The story of this game will be which running back finds the most room to run. Arkansas freshman Alex Collins has been more than any Razorbacks fan could have expected, and USC's Mike Davis is starting to pick up Hesiman chatter. Bottom line: I trust South Carolina's defense to get stops more than I trust Arkansas' to do the same. Expect an ugly, ugly game resulting in a Spurrier win.

Bowling Green @ Mississippi State: 6:30 p.m., FSN

This is a sneaky game for Dan Mullen and his perpetually disappointing Bulldogs. Bowling Green is putting together a decent little season and may very well be the best team in the MAC. Still, Mississippi State is playing this game at home and should be able to pull away on talent alone. The Bowling Green offense has been chewing up a ton of yards, so this will be a good out-of-conference test for the Bulldogs defense. Look for State to give up some points, but still win by a comfortable two-score margin.

Alabama is good. Kentucky is bad. Stir that together in a pot, and you've got another boring blowout.
