Khari Harding, the No. 631-rated recruit according to 247Sports, has officially signed to play for Auburn. Harding faxed in his National Letter of Intent earlier Wednesday.
Harding, who played for Edmond, Okla., Santa Fe High School, chose the Tigers over Arizona State and Arkansas, the two other finalists for his services. He verbally committed to Auburn on Jan. 20, 2013.
Harding had zeroed in on Auburn after also considering offers from 12 other schools, including Arkansas, Iowa State, Kansas State and Washington State. He committed to Arkansas on Oct. 9, 2012. But after an official visit to the Plains on Jan. 18, 2013, he flipped his allegiance from the Hogs.
Harding was the 46th-highest safety in the 247Sports rankings, and he was tabbed as the No. 6 player in the state of Oklahoma. He joins an Auburn squad that has been producing less-than-desired results out of the secondary in recent years, and if he picks up the college game quickly, he could challenge for playing time soon.
