The Tigers add Johnathan Ford on National Signing Day.

Johnathan Ford the No. 300-rated recruit according to 247Sports, announced his intention to sign with Auburn during a ceremony at his school on National Signing Day.

Ford, who played for New Hope (Ala.) High School, chose Auburn over Tennessee, Georgia and Florida State, the three other finalists for his services.

Ford chose Auburn after being previously committed to Vanderbilt. After decommitting from the Commodores, the interest in Ford shot up, and he received offers from Auburn, FSU, and Tennessee very quickly.

Alexander was the 20th-highest running back in the 247Sports rankings, and he was tabbed as the No. 11 player in Alabama. He will help add depth in the backfield, as Auburn only had 2 scholarship running backs on the roster. Ford also participated in the 2012 Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic
