Auburn: Drops to #8 in the Coaches Poll. Six drops isn't bad, and Auburn still remains in the Top 10. Meanwhile, they only dropped to #6 in the AP Poll.Winning out could still mean a very good shot at the College Football Playoffs, so there is still life for the Tigers.

SEC: Mississippi State claims the #1 ranking in both polls. It's well deserved, as the Bulldogs have looked like the best team in the nation so far this season. Ole Miss is #3 in both polls. Friends, I'd like to talk to you about Jesus, 'cause surely the apocalypse is nigh.

Alabama holds down the #7 spot in both polls, Georgia is at #10 in both, and Texas A&M to #21. Auburn appears to be the only SEC team with different rankings. I'm a bit surprised that Texas A&M remained in the polls after their second loss in consecutive weeks; however, since those two losses were to the current #1 and #3 teams, I guess they earn a bit of a bump.

The Schedule: Kansas State is #14 in both polls, so that victory in Manhattan is still looking very solid on Auburn's resume. Auburn faces four more teams this season ranked in the current Top 25 and the only one that is a home game is against the lowest ranked team.
