Watch List Watching

Each week, we’ll take a look at how the Auburn players on watch lists performed on the field and who their competition might be.

John Reed-USA TODAY Sports

Sammie Coates (Biletnikoff, Maxwell)

For the second game in a row, Coates had only two catches, this time for 19 yards. The reemergence of Coates as a deep threat is essential as Auburn takes on an unforgiving schedule.

Reese Dismukes (Lombardi, Outland, Rimington)

Based on the TV broadcast, it appeared Dismukes had some words for his teammates on offensive line, which speaks to his leadership. The holes are still not there for the running game, and the line was shuffled once again with Patrick Miller's injury. Hopefully, this line gels very soon...as in right away.

Kris Frost (Butkus)

Frost tipped the pass that was intercepted by Montravius Adams but was also injured on the play. He did not return to the game and is listed as day-to-day.

Nick Marshall (Davey O'Brien, Manning, Maxwell, Walter Camp)

Marshall was 10 of 17 for 166 passing yards and 3 TDs. He also rushed 13 times for 119 yards. At points in the game, it seemed like his keepers were the only runs that were working.

Robenson Therezie (Bednarik)

Therezie had recorded two assists and a sack with DeVonte Lambert.

CJ Uzomah (Mackey)

Proving once again that he might be Jeremy Johnson's favorite target, Uzomah had one catch for 15 yards and a TD.

Gabe Wright (Bronko Nagurski, Outland)

Wright recorded three assists and three QB hurries.

Notable Competition

Clemson's DeShaun Watson was named the Davey O'Brien Player of the Week for his performance against UNC. Watson was 27-36 for 435 yards and 6 TDs.

Cal QB Jared Goff passed for 458 yards and seven touchdowns against Colorado, earning a nod as the Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week.
