In big news for the Auburn secondary, Jermain Whitehead has been reinstated. Gus Malzahn did say that he'll have to earn his way back on to the field, though. Auburn's pass defense has actually been pretty good over the past few weeks, as this infographic from the official Twitter account points out:

Auburn freshman Stanton Truitt is out for the year after having shoulder surgery. This is a shame, Truitt looked great in his few touches. He will be something special in the slot going forward. Auburn is applying for a medical redshirt for him, so hopefully we'll get another few years of him on campus.

Columbus Ledger-Enquirer talks about Avery Young and his shifting back and forth between Guard and Tackle on the offensive line.

The Montgomery Advertiser recaps Rhett Lashlee's meeting with the press on Tuesday night. This was rescheduled from his normal Sunday evening appearance.

Along with that, the M-A looks at South Carolina's struggles in rush defense (they gave up quite a few yards to FCS also-ran Furman last weekend) and whether or not Auburn can exploit those weaknesses.

That Auburn offense? Charles Goldberg over at the official site says they're looking to pick up the speed toward a much better second half of the season.

Charles also has an article about the basketball program and handling the heightened expectations surrounding the team after the hiring of Bruce Pearl and the incoming transfers.

Speaking of, here's out Twitter-cap of Bruce Pearl's press conference yesterday.
