Your daily dose of the Auburn internet

The College Football Playoff Rankings were released last night. Auburn is #9, just as in both the AP and Coaches' Poll. The highest ranking two-loss team in the rankings. There is still a very minuscule chance the Tigers could find their way back into the playoffs, but it would take a lot of teams ahead of us losing.

Early in the season Daniel Carlson was handling all of the kicking duties for Auburn. As the year has progressed, the expected punter-to-be Jimmy Hutchinson has been coming on and earning more time at the position. Carlson was not originally supposed to be handling every aspect of the kicking game, nor do the coaches want him to be. So, it's good that Hutchinson is stepping up.

Both sides of the Auburn-UGA rivalry have claimed to put last year's game behind them. You can bet that's not really the case, though.

Corey Grant's role has been decreasing as Roc Thomas earns more carries, but the senior running back is finding other ways to contribute.

Auburn is trusting its seniors to step up and take on a big leadership role following last Saturday's loss to Texas A&M.

There will be more on the line than just football in Saturday's UGA game. Waffle House is offering free waffles to the city of the winning team.

With Duke likely out, expect to see more of Melvin Ray and CJ Uzomah as receiving options.

Auburn senior Cross-Country runner Ty McCormack was named SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year.

The official site has position previews for the women's basketball team.
