Travelling west is becoming a familiar thing for Bruce Pearl's Auburn Tigers. They first did it against Colorado, then to Las Vegas for the MGM Grand Main Event, and now they go to Lubbock to take on the 4-1 Texas Tech Red Raiders as part of the SEC / Big 12 Challenge.
Texas Tech marks the first opponent the Tigers have faced this season who did not make a post-season appearance last year. Their wins so far this season have come against Loyola, Montana State, Northwestern State, and the Air Force Academy. Their lone loss of the season was to Auburn's conference-mate LSU in overtime.
Texas Tech is coached by former SEC head coach Tubby Smith in his second season in Lubbock. This will be the first time since 1963 that Auburn and Texas Tech have played, according to the official site.
How to Watch, Stream, and Listen
Game Time: 9pm EST / 8pm CDT
TV: SEC Network
Stream: WatchESPN
Audio: Auburn broadcast is here.
The Numbers
Line: Texas Tech is a 7.5 - 8 point favorite, depending on who you go with.
The Match-up
Will KT Harrell be on target tonight? Will Cinmeon Bowers continue as Auburn's biggest rebounder? (Spoiler Alert for that one: Yes) Can Malcom Canada continue his recent trend of scoring in double figures?
I think the biggest question will be can Auburn minimize mistakes and avoid the cold spells that have plagued them all season long. Auburn has gone cold for a period of at least 2 minutes in pretty much every single game, and it has gone as high as 7 minutes.
Of course, the return of Antoine Mason (no word yet on his status) could definitely improve Auburn's scoring abilities.
Edit: Looks like that's not happening
Auburn G Antoine Mason (ankle) "doubtful" for 8 p.m. tip at Texas Tech, according to source. Could miss 5th straight game.
