Watch List Watching

Each week, we'll take a look at how the Auburn players on watch lists performed on the field and who their competition might be.

Nick Marshall (Manning)

Marshall was red hot against Alabama completing 27-of-43 passes for 456 yards and three touchdowns. His 505 total all-purpose yards were the most in school history. Marshall, though, was not named a finalist for the Manning Award or any of the other awards for which he was named to pre-season Watch Lists. His chances were doomed by Auburn ending the season in such a disappointing fashion. Despite how this season turned out, Marshall led a team last year that no one gave any chance of winning more than a few games to a national title game. There was never a game this year or last that looked too big for Marshall. He was steady and steely, and he knew how to win. I hope that Marshall is remembered as one Auburn's greatest quarterbacks.

And, then there was one...

Reese Dismukes (Outland)

The Outland Trophy will be presented December 11 during The Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN. Dismukes is one of three semifinalists. Good luck to Reese!
