It was "VIP information" on the South Carolina Board, but someone on Auburn's board posted it in front of the paywall. Auburn is still considered the leader for Will Muschamp, but a possible wrench in that situation would be if South Carolina offers Muschamp a Head Coach in Waiting tag.

It's hard for me to see him taking that tag on, again. Especially to a coach with an even bigger ego than Mack Brown. I don't doubt Spurrier will hang it up soon, but it's still questionable. This would seem like a strange move on South Carolina's part, too. They would be offering the head coaching position to someone who just failed as a head coach in an unknown number of years and without knowing just what he may have learned or gotten better from. It also removes the possibility of them getting someone who may be a proven head coach in a few years.

AUBURN FOOTBALL

Four new Tigers will join the team as January enrollees. The official site has the full details on them. QB Tyler Queen will probably be given a chance to compete in the spring for the starting QB job, but that's just window dressing on the competition between Sean White and Jeremy Johnson. The key from this group of four to Auburn's success next fall will likely be Chandler Cox. He will have a chance to compete and start in the H-back/FB spot from the moment he steps foot on the Plains, so having spring practice under his belt will be a huge help.

On top of that, 5* JUCO running back Jovon Robinson will be joining the team within days. Robinson will join a backfield that will be crowded with great players, and will have bowl practices and spring practice to get up to speed on the offense.

Speaking of that backfield... Auburn commit Kerryon Johnson had a record setting day yesterday in a state championship winning effort for Madison Academy against Dale County. Johnson accounted for six touchdowns out of Madison Academy's 70 points. Four of them were rushing touchdowns, one receiving, and one was a pick-six interception return. I think it's safe to say Auburn is getting a good one.

On the returning player front, WR Duke Williams has still not made a decision. Come on, Duke You know you want to have Jeremy Johnson slinging the ball to you full time.

AUBURN BASKETBALL

Auburn's is taking issue with an AP Story that Bruce Pearl walked away from the hand-shake line following the Texas Tech game. Bruce Pearl was definitely upset with the way things went in that game, but Auburn says the AP has the story wrong.

Auburn will take on Coastal Carolina tonight at Auburn Arena. In the process they will welcome home former Tiger coach Cliff Ellis who now coaches the Chanticleers.

The women's team took on Southeast Louisiana on Thursday night and came away with a 77-41 win. The Tigers improved to 5-2 on the season.
