'14 SG/SF T.J. Lang has committed to Bruce Pearl and the Auburn Tigers after asking to be released from his letter of intent to Virginia Tech after the Hokies made a coaching change. Since the release was granted, Lang can play right away as a freshman. The 6'6, 195-pound hoopster is ranked as the ninth-best prospect from the state of Alabama and is rated as a three-star under the 247Composite.

Lang took an official visit to Auburn last weekend with his family, which came after Lang already had taken an unofficial visit to Auburn to get to know some of the coaching staff before the extended weekend visit. With the Tigers signing guard K.C. Ross-Miller on Monday night, this addition to the basketball team could have a great impact on the future of Auburn's success.

This the fourth commit in the class of 2014 for Auburn, including Sam Longwood, Jack Purchase, and JUCO prospect Cinmeon Bowers, along with the aforementioned recent transfer of Ross-Miller.

The son of former Duke player Antonio Lang, T.J. has the makings to be a solid player for the Tigers and head coach Bruce Pearl. Five new additions (the four commits and Ross-Miller) will put Auburn one scholarship over the limit of 13, meaning Pearl and staff will face roster management decisions for the upcoming season. You can probably expect a transfer or someone to be cut in the near future, but for now, the focus is on this most recent signing:
