Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn continues his recruiting success as the Tigers landed a three-star recruit from the state of Florida for the class of 2015. '15 defensive back Chris Westry gave his commitment to Auburn on Thursday afternoon, selecting the Tigers over other contenders Florida and South Florida. At 6'4, 180-pounds, Westry could project as a linebacker or even a tall defensive back at the next level, which is where the Tigers coaching staff might place him.

Westry is ranked as the 102nd best safety in the country and 191st best prospect overall from the Sunshine state. Westry also held offers from Auburn, Charlotte, Florida International, Florida, Ohio, South Florida, and Central Florida.

This commitment comes only days after impressing the staff at a camp that took place on Sunday, where Auburn handed him his offer. Auburn only has one other cornerback commit in this class, Tony Bridges, so this was a recruit that the Tigers are more than happy to have. Westry seemed just as excited when he posted on Twitter earlier Thursday:

Auburn's 2015 recruiting class now sits at 18 total commitments and is ranked seventh in the country overall and fifth in the SEC recruiting ranks.
