AUBURN FOOTBALL
Former Auburn Tiger Jerraud Powers weighed in on just what Auburn can expect with Muschamp as the defensive coordinator. Powers played of Muschamp in 2006 and 2007, going pro after his Junior season on the Plains.
AL.com takes a look at how the role of quarterback is likely to change with Nick Marshall gone and Jeremy Johnson presumed to be next season's starter. I say "presumed" because Sean White could always beat JJ out, and there is always the possibility that Jason Smith comes in and wows the coaches and could play the Nick Marshall role.
Of Auburn's players who visited during this weekend's mega-recruiting weekend and were already committed to the Tigers, pretty much every one of them left saying they were 100% committed to Auburn. Kerryon Johnson may even cancel his official visit to Alabama this weekend (though KJ has never given Auburn coaches any reason to suspect he would defect to the Tide, anyway).
Sammie Coates says he's 100% healthy heading into the Senior Bowl in Mobile, and there are many who think Nick Marshall is limiting himself in teams who will give him a serious look for the NFL by playing QB in the Senior Bowl.
We've spoken of this before, but there are three very big recruits who are talking about being a package deal in their college choice: 5* DE Byron Cowart, 5* DE CeCe Jefferson, and 4* LB Jeff Holland. Holland has said Auburn is his leader, so that bodes will for the Tigers. Then there's this Tweet to make your heart start racing at the thought of the defensive class:
Me , @T_irvin2 @Dmcgriff1 @holland_jeffery @cecejeferson7 & Byron @thaRD5 all toegther on one team scary yo
— G.O.E (@javariusdavis1) January 20, 2015
That's Auburn DB Target Javarius Davis, who visited this weekend and is said to be very high on Auburn, now. And who is he tweeting about? Well, Jeff Holland, CeCe Jefferson, and Byron Cowart are obvious, and since Davis is a Florida target (along with the others), as well, he could always mean the Gators, right? Add in 4* WR Ryan Davis (@thaRD5), and it could look like a Gators thing. Well, also included there are D'Anfernee McGriff (an Auburn commit), and Tim Irvin (an Auburn commit who will enroll in classes at Auburn, tomorrow). Sooo... yeah, I like the thought. It's still too early to get TOO excited, though.
Former Auburn head coach and defensive coordinator Gene Chizik was finally officially announced as North Carolina's defensive coordinator.
AUBURN BASKETBALL
Bruce Pearl wants this:
Bruce Pearl says he wants to start a new tradition of everyone standing and cheering to start second half. Says team needs energy

So, everyone needs to give that to him. Particularly those who sit in certain sections of the Arena who seem averse to any sort of major cheering and enthusiasm (I'm looking at you, scholarship seating).
Finally, on a personal note, I posted this FanPost this morning. I did it as a FanPost so that it wouldn't clog up the Front Page. Everyone has their own Memorial Day. Today is mine.
