AUBURN FOOTBALL
Receiver Jaylon Denson has had some more knee issues, and his future is uncertain right now. That is very unfortunate, as Denson was an excellent blocking receiver for the Tigers in early 2013.
Corey Grant says opposing defenses were more prepared for Auburn's offense in 2014. He may be right, but Auburn's offense still put up some incredible numbers, and there was a whole lot more involved than just opposing defenses being prepared.
Rumors have been all around lately that Will Muschamp may head to the Atlanta Falcons to be Dan Quinn's defensive coordinator. ESPN's Derek Tyson said that "100% will not happen," and SB Nation's own Steven Godfrey says it is "very unlikely." One thing I really don't like that Godfrey is saying is that Quinn could also be considering Travaris Robinson for a position on his staff, as well.
SB Nation's "Mocking The Draft" asked Gus about any NFL job interest yesterday at the Senior Bowl. Gus essentially shot that down by reiterating what he's said before: he's happy at Auburn and loves it here.
Gus is definitely happy about Auburn having six players in the Senior Bowl. It is a definite plus for Auburn in recruiting to be able to point to the number of players in these college all-star games.
Sammie Coates is impressing on and off the field down at the Senior Bowl, and is anyone the least bit surprised at that? No? I didn't think so. Sammie is a very impressive young man in all respects. Cameron Artis-Payne is using the Senior Bowl as a chance to prove he belongs in the conversation of the nation's best running backs. And in not-so-good Senior Bowl news, Gabe Wright was sidelined with an injury. He still plans to play in the game, though.
Speaking about former players and their pursuit to further their careers in football, WarRoomEagle took the first of many looks at Auburn players and how they're doing leading up to this year's NFL draft.
Gus isn't buying into the thought that Nick Marshall can't be an NFL quarterback.
In recruiting news, Auburn is in 5* DE Byron Cowart's "final two," and with Holland being a very heavy Auburn lean, you have to think this makes Auburn's chances of landing that "package deal" of Cowart, CeCe Jefferson, and Holland a very real possibility.
AUBURN BASKETBALL
The ladies took on Alabama last night in Tuscaloosa. Things got ugly late in the first half as an Alabama player threw a bunch, and Auburn's Hasina Muhammad responded with one of her own. Both players were ejected, along with a second Alabama player for leaving the bench. Unfortunately, Auburn could not pull out the victory in the game and remains winless in SEC play this season.
The Wheelchair Basketball teams will be playing their version of the Iron Bowl this Saturday starting at 1pm at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum in Auburn. Definitely get out there and support them if you're able! Admission is free!
AUBURN SPORTS
The gymnastics team is at the Auburn Arena at 7pm Friday night against Air Force. If you can make it, then get there!
